Cynthia Padilla, BA California State University, Los Angeles + graduate studies UCLA Surface Design. Began a 20+ year career in surface design, traveling the world researching art, design and cultures… wood block printing while in India and Thailand; Tie-dyes in Jamaica; Glazed tiles in Italy, Mexico, and Portugal; Intricate layered mola fabrics in Honduras; Icon painting in Greece; Retablo painting and bulto carving in New Mexico; Back strap weavings of Guatemala. Padilla enthusiastically shares these findings in unique programming for museums, universities, and fine crafts centers across the United States, Canada and Central America.
